Now here’s a cool concept for a series. It follows the one character, Maude, as she tries to figure out which music is her heart’s desire. She goes from being a composer, to musicals, to opera, to pop music. Not in that order.
Know why I buy that she can shift around through all this stuff, which seems so different?
Because Green Day’s now on Broadway. Or they were; the show closed after 422 performances. Which ain’t shabby. And now, you can catch a touring version in your own city, if you’re lucky enough to live in or near a city that has a thriving and exciting stage series.
Because Geoff Tate, who used to front Queensryche until a really ugly and hard to watch (so Susan says) split, is a trained opera singer.
Because Pat Benatar is a trained opera singer.
Because because because. It’s possible. It happens. So why not in fiction.
Bring this series on! The first book, A French Girl in New York, was published in 2012, and the newest, A French Voice in New York, is expected out next month.
I’d love to start at the beginning. I know it’s not nearly enough time to be ready for the release date of the newest, but I’m willing to be a little bit behind. I am!
