Even though I have yet to read any of Lisa Gillis’ books (anyone? Want to send me a review?), I follow her on Facebook. So I found this and figured I’d pass it along, although time’s running short.

Only through today, you can check a sale on a whole slew of Rock Fiction. Some sound like they are free and some are 99c. I’ll let you explore, see what you like, what the deals are…

Just remember, if you pick any up — while on this sale or not — the best way to say thanks to the author is by leaving reviews. And if you post them anywhere, feel free to send ’em to me, too, with links back to you (If you have and/or want any) so I can give you proper credit and props.

You GUYS. It’s Tuesday and I’m supposed to be coveting some Rock Fiction for you all, but I can’t. For one, I signed up to be part of this release blitz (I thought Susan was signing me up to review the book, but guess not).

And for another, the book arrived late and I’m not done reading it because, let me tell you, this is one to sit and savor. And read with your boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, or battery-operated friend. Or any combination! I don’t care! Just… wow! Don’t miss this one!

Pick up your copy. Seriously. Go get it. And if you haven’t read the first in the series, Taking the Lead, get that one, too. In fact, since this is the second in the series, it might do you good to read the first and get the background. Taking the Lead set up the storyline, and Wild Licks doesn’t do a lot of time explaining what’s already come to be. This is a good thing ’cause the book oughta be able to stand on its own, and is actually better so far ’cause it doesn’t have to take us through the set-up.

I’ll be back with a review. Or beat me to it, if you want. But we are just getting STARTED with the Cecilia Tan and Wild Licks goodness around here!

When I told Jett that the newest volume in Cecilia Tan’s Daron’s Guitar Chronicles was on sale today, she went nuts. Just totally flipped out.

You guys know that Jett’s a total Cecilia Tan nut, right?

If you are, too — and really, Cecilia’s worth the read, so if you haven’t yet, be sure to jump in and get reading — then you should rush over to your favorite retailer and grab a copy. Especially today, because it’s on sale for only 99c. Today, June 30, only, though!

Get buying!!

Here’s a link to Smashwords, but it’s available pretty much anywhere you like to shop. I’m using this one ’cause I’m an affiliate and I get a few pennies if you use my link. You know how it works. Those pennies help support this place. And I love Smashwords, so if you haven’t started buying books from them, why not?

Jett-300x300

Susan’s been seeing this one on Facebook. I asked her why we didn’t just mention here ’cause everyone loves a sale. And this sale apparently is a limited time thing, although no one’s talking about when it’ll be over. Just that it’s happening.

It’s an eight-book box set, which is too much of a commitment for yours truly, but if you like that thing, grab it.

LUST’S RHYTHM (Heart of Fame) by Award winning author Lexxie Couper ~ She’s the daughter of rock royalty. He’s been warned off her by her famous father. But Jed Brody has lusted after Chloe Blackthorne for four years, and when Chloe lets him know the lust is entirely mutual, nothing will stop the bad boy of rock claiming her as his. Career be damned.

THE ROCK STAR’S SECRET BABY (Ballybeg Bad Boys) by USA Today bestselling author Zara Keane ~ When a beautiful former fling blasts back into his life, jaded rock star Darko Dunne’s peaceful seclusion on a private island comes to an explosive end. Faced with a band of ruthless criminals and a ticking clock, Darko and Muireann must pool their resources to rescue the baby he never knew he had.

THREE NIGHTS WITH A ROCK STAR (Half-Life) by USA Today bestselling authors Amber Lin and Shari Slade ~ Sparks fly when a hot rocker takes a good girl for a walk on the wild side…against the penthouse window, backstage, in the limo and on the elevator.

FORBIDDEN ROCK STAR (Red Hot Rock Rhapsodies) by NYT and USA Today bestselling author Madelynne Ellis ~ Nathaniel Darke: She knows just how to press all my buttons. Bass-playing bitch, crawling under my skin. I want to believe one good shag will cure me of her. But instead, I end up addicted.

PAINKILLER (First Hit) by USA Today bestselling authors Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott ~ He’s the rockstar she doesn’t recognize. She’s the fighter he’ll never forget. Nothing stings as much as the first hit…or hurts so good.

DIRTY (The Horus Group) by USA Today bestselling author Ainsley Booth ~ Wilson: Tabitha Leyton is a mess, but now she’s my mess. To the rest of the world, she’s a superstar. Secretly, she’s a witness to depravity and a train wreck waiting to happen. But I can’t get her out of my head. And for one angry, secret night, we have each other in every imaginable way. The whole time, I know she’s off-limits. So in the morning, I’ll walk away. Officially.

MORE THAN MUSIC (Chasing the Dream) by Elizabeth Briggs ~ When geeky guitarist Maddie Taylor joins tattooed rock star Jared Cross’s band to compete on a reality TV show, their attraction becomes impossible to resist—but their forbidden romance might tear their band apart and cost them everything.

RESISTOR (Black Halo) by Madelynne Ellis ~ Sex is the last thing on his mind, or he wishes it was…Spook Mortensen has one rule when it comes to relationships: just say no. He has his reasons. Good reasons. His policy of total abstinence has kept him out of trouble for years. Sex ought to be the last thing on his mind, but whenever go-getting sound engineer Allegra Hutton shows up, she doesn’t just hijack his libido, she downright screws with hit. The only way to deal with her is to tie her up. Alle realises she’s upsetting Spook’s rhythm, but she’s under no illusion that he’s the right top to warm her bottom.

Some of these books are available separately, but not all, which is a bummer for people like me who download these huge things and then whimper at how big they are and how long it’s going to take me to read it. Maybe if someone involved sends it our way, I’ll make Susan read it. It’s not like she’s overdue with a review of her own…

Anyway, it’s super cheap. 99c for eight books. Man, how can these authors afford to live off THAT royalty?

Get it at Amazon.
Or at Barnes and Noble, for those of you who support the little guy.

There might be more; check your favorite retailers. And, as always, if you want to post your review of the whole thing, or any book by itself, The Rock of Pages is here for that. We love guest reviews!

It’s the last time for another year that I can use the awesome Rocktober logo (designed by the awesome Magnolia Belle, herself an author of Rock Fiction, so please pick up her books and leave a review when you’ve finished them.), and that makes me sad. I love the Rocktober logo.

As always, it’s been a great month, with new authors and authors who’ve been here before, and books, books, books. Not just books. Rock Fiction.

Haven’t had enough? Well, here’s an offer for you. I’ll leave The Demo Tapes: Year 1 for free for a bit longer — like, whenever I go, “Hey, I should fix that!” — and Trevor’s Song at 99c. If you send me a link to a review you’ve posted at GoodReads, Amazon, B&N, or anywhere else (your blog?), I’ll send you whichever of my books you’d like next. The more reviews you write, the more free books you can earn.

I am hoping to have something brand new (but not Rock Fiction. The horror!) out in the spring. So yes, you can save your freebie for that one, too.

Read. Review. Get free books.

And remember… it’s Rocktober all year long here at the Rock of Pages. Want to write a guest post? Go for it. Post a review? Go for it. Cross-post a review? Go for it. Got something YOU want to covet? Go for it!

Drop Susan and Jett a note. We’d be glad to host you. It’s all about spreading the word of Rock Fiction.

(and to put my money where my mouth is, keep your eyes peeled for my review of Cherry Cox’s book coming soon!)

avatar S RED

Because I do it every year… I’ve put the digital version of a few of the books in the Trevolution on sale during Rocktober. Only Trevor’s Song and The Demo Tapes: Year 1, though. (If you’d like a review copy of any of the others, holler and I’ll fix you up. But please… post a review! That’s the purpose of the review copy. See how that works?)

I figured those are my two best-sellers, so let’s bring some new friends in.

Nice to drop in at my own blog again… Jett’s been taking pretty good care of you, it looks like. I knew she was good people from the moment we met!

The awesome ladies at Dear Author alerted me to this one. Liora Blake’s True North is on sale for $1.99. I’m not sure for how long, and the sale seems to be across all the retailers. Looks like they’re doing it as a run-up for the next in the True series, which comes out on the 22nd of this month.

True North

I think Jett would be bored by the plot, but the reviews for this one are really strong. Here’s the book description:

While most novelists would consider jetting off to Hollywood for a TV interview rather exciting, small-town Montana writer Kate Mosely finds it all a bit exhausting. After losing her husband in a car accident where she was behind the wheel, Kate has finally found her bearings in the world again, rebuilding a simple but stable life. And even if that means a lot of lonely nights watching old movies and quiet days writing obituaries for her hometown newspaper, Kate’s not sure she’s ready for her life to change—again.

Until she shares the stage—and a whole heap of carnal gazes—with rock star Trevor “Trax” Jenkins. Despite his intimidating on-stage bravado, underneath it Kate discovers a man with a Rilke poem tattooed on his arm, an appreciation for cronuts, and a snarky wit that matches her own.

As she and Trevor explore their heated chemistry, the scarred parts of Kate’s heart begin to heal, making room for a love so passionate it makes her want long-forgotten things equal parts naughty, heart-swelling, and joyful. But when a searing exposé in a trashy gossip magazine sends Kate running, will it threaten their chances at forever?

I like the idea of a guilt-stricken widow. Tells you right there that this is a character who knows how to love well, and to love a man the right way. Kudos to the author for going there. It’s the insta-lust, the quiet girl who catches the rocker’s attention… we’ve seen all that before.

But as Jett likes to remind us all, it’s in the execution, and a glance at the reviews shows author Blake knows what she’s doing. I wonder how authentic her details are, though…

This is the link to True North at GoodReads. You can use it to access your favorite online store… or to send the details about the book to your favorite indie bookshop, who can order it for you, presumably at the sale price. Ask!
